Regarding the issue, the senior official did not rule out that at this weekend’s meeting in Rome proposals may be put forward, but warned that there is no concrete decision on this issue yet.

‘The G20 is thinking about it and this issue will continue to be seriously under discussion,’ she said, according to the TASS news agency.

She explained that the countries of the group agree that mutual recognition of certificates would accelerate global economic recovery and improve people’s quality of life.

Lukash said that developing states are the most interested in addressing the issue, while the European Union and the United States also recognize the existence of the problem and that it must be tackled.

She recalled that, however, decisions on the certification of vaccines are regulated by national laws.

The Russian representative told the press that assistance to countries in the most difficult conditions in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic will be among the main topics of the summit, as well as the search for joint solutions to face the challenges of climate change.
