The events occurred on Tuesday, when a policewoman was injured and held hostage by an inmate in a house in the Havana neighborhood of El Vedado.
According to an official press release from the Ministry of the Interior, order was quickly restored, the perpetrator of the incident was captured and the young policewoman was taken to the ‘Calixto Garcia’ Hospital to receive immediate medical care.
The Cuban foreign minister tweeted a video with statements by neighbors, who also highlighted the professional behavior and caution by the police officers, who were in charge of preserving the lives of the population.
