Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Zhao Lijian described the action as provocative and warned about the consequences if Taiwanese Foreign Minister Joseph Wu finally travels to the European country to meet with Senate speaker Milos Vystrcil.
He also ratified to Taipei that any independence movement is doomed to failure.
‘China is determined to protect national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and will take the necessary measures to neutralize all Taiwan independence attempts,’ he stressed, after saying that island is an inalienable part of this Chinese territory.
Apart from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, another Government spokesman emphasized this Wednesday that the future of Taiwan lies in the complete reunification of the country and this is an issue to be decided ‘by all Chinese people, as it concerns national sovereignty and territorial integrity.’
