During combing operations in areas where remnant cells of the Islamic State terrorist organization – Daesh in Arabic – are active, a warehouse including more than 10 thousand mortar shells, some homemade and some of foreign origin, was found, the National Defense Center in Raqa reported.
It added that the search and combing operations continue in the desert areas where the radicals hide weapons in caves and rocky mountains.
The members of this grouping registered on the international terrorism list escalated their attacks over the past year against army points and civilian communities in the desert areas of al-Badieh which covers large areas of Raqa, Deir Ezzor, Homs and Hama provinces.
Syria has repeatedly denounced that U.S. forces illegally present in the national territory, train and move extremists to use them in attacks against army positions and civilian communities in this region.
The recent aggressions in that area are planned and facilitated by the American military that offer from their base in Tanef, weapons and intelligence information to the terrorists in order to destabilize and extend the war in this nation.
