Sadiq tweeted that he accompanied the Foreign Minister of Pakistan Shah Mahmood Qureshi, who met with Taliban leaders in Kabul and announced $28 million in humanitarian aid for Afghanistan, in addition to what has been flowing in regularly for over a month already, the Pajhwok news agency reported.
According to the Al-Jazeera network Pakistan will ease travel and trade restrictions on its land borders.
The announcement came after Qureshi concluded a day trip to Kabul, his first to Afghanistan since the Taliban took over.
Qureshi said at a press conference in Islamabad that delegation-level talks with the Afghan interim government, including Prime Minister Mohammad Hassan Akhund, were positive.
The restrictions imposed by Pakistan on the movement of goods and travelers through the two main overland crossings between the two countries were a point of tension in recent weeks.
One of the major policy changes announced by Qureshi after his stay in Kabul was that Afghan visitors to Pakistan with valid visas will be able to cross the border freely by means of a digital document service introduced to streamline the process.
