The news was published on Monday in a press release that SODePAZ sent to Prensa Latina, in which it said that a 40-feet container laden with material from renewable energy sources was sent to Cuba from the port of Valencia, Spain, on October 15.
It is the Integrated Control System project for energy supply through hybrid systems in Cuban isolated communities.
It is co-funded by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) and headed by the Center for Energy, Environment and Technology Research (CIEMAT), the NGO SODePAZ and the company Bornay.
The project proposes an innovative cross-cutting solution, which, by using a large part of of the existing resources, makes viable power and thermal supply, the source said.
The proposed solution focuses on the development of a pilot hybrid system based on a biomass gasifier and proposes its hybridization with a solar photovoltaic system and a wind turbine.
The device would include: storage (gases and batteries), regulation, control and monitoring.
