During the funeral of members of the movement murdered in an ambush last Thursday, Safieddine specified that the Party of God will not be drawn into the use of arms in the country.

Seven people were killed and another 60 wounded by gunfire from rooftops in the capital town of Tayunet as they prepared to protest against the judge investigating the blast in the port of Beirut last year.

In Safieddine’s view, the ambush was carried out by militias belonging to the Christian Lebanese Forces party, which were trying to bring back the 1975-1990 civil war.

‘They dared to do that because they know that we do not want civil conflicts,’ he said, while emphasizing that the Resistance will not fall into the trap of responding with weapons, although, as he stressed, the spilled blood will not be in vain.

The leader of the Party of God denounced that the Lebanese Forces respond to the interests of the United States with the aim of insulting Hezbollah, for which they also receive financing from Arab countries.
