In his speech at Russia’s Energy Week, Vladimir Putin stressed that this reality will lead to better relations and the US political class to ‘stop speculating’ on Moscow-Washington ties.
The Russian president stated that the White House’s steps on Russian energy sector harmed its own country, for which Putin hoped that ‘the awareness of this policy´s uselessness will prevail.’
The head of state also said that relations with his US counterpart Joe Biden are ‘working and stable,’ while relations with current administration described them as constructive.
In this regard, Putin recalled that the US Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland is visiting Moscow. ‘She and her Russian colleagues are discussing our next contacts with President Joe Biden,’ he stated.
Putin assured that Russia is willing to negotiate with Washington about reducing offensive weapons. In his viewpoint, the arms race between Russia and the United States is up and running and began after the US withdrawal from the Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty (ABM).
