On his Twitter account, the foreign minister informed that immunization in Cuba takes place with its own vaccines, conceived and developed by national scientists and the pharmaceutical industry.
According to reports, 85.6 percent of the population have received at least one dose of those vaccines.
This is equivalent to 97.8 percent of vaccine-eligible population, it adds.
The head of Cuban diplomacy tweeted that 59.7 percent of those people have completed their immunization scheme.
The pace of Covid-19 vaccination and the reduction in contagions have led to a gradual reopening of services and the easing of restrictions imposed by the pandemic in several Cuban provinces.
