As reported on Twitter, the presentation took place with a limited number of attendees and was headed by historian and baseball fan Félix Julio Alfonso and filmmaker Arturo Sotto.

The meeting became a tribute to Codina on the occasion of his 70 years and a symbol of gratitude for adopting Cuba as his own homeland and dedicating himself here to rediscover the cultural world through his ties with the cinema.

Concerning the book, he said it is a ‘kaleidoscopic approach to the relationship of baseball, culture and identity’, a recurring theme in several of his previous articles and various chronicles and publications.

According to specialists, the author (born in Venezuela in 1951) has made a compilation of interpretations about relationships seen from baseball games, as well as songs or expressions of fans to encourage their favorite team.

The presentation took place in the context of activities to celebrate the declaration of the cultural dimension of baseball as Cultural Heritage of the Nation, which will take place on October 19 at an official ceremony at the Palmar de Junco stadium in Matanzas province.
