Eranga Gunasekara and Anjana Samith Amarasinghe, organizer and secretary of International Relations of the SYU, as well as Cuban ambassador Andrés Marcelo Garrido laid a wreath in front of the plaque commemorating Che’s stay.
The diplomatic representative read a message of greeting from the National Bureau of the Union of Young Communists of Cuba for the occasion.
The Union of Socialist Youth of Sri Lanka, belonging to the People’s Liberation Front party, organized the event for the anniversary, including debates on the Internet between local left-wing organizations and those from other countries, blood donations for hospitals as well as music and environmental programs.
