This program benefits Venezuelans who voluntarily want to return to the country and was resumed after the xenophobic and discriminatory attacks that took place on September 24 and 25 in the Chilean city of Iquique.
The day before, 200 compatriots from that country arrived in this nation, according to the Deputy Foreign Minister Rander Peña, through the publication of a video on microblogging.
‘In the midst of a situation of exploitative work towards Venezuelans, they were victims by a small group of people from Iquique, who do not represent the feelings of the Chilean people,’ he specified.
Last September 27, the head of state requested Chilean national and local authorities to respect the integrity of his fellow countrymen, who in the last days were the object of acts of violence.
