According to several forecast models of the Department of Solar Radiation and Atmospheric Optics of the Provincial Meteorological Center of Camagüey, the effect of this cloud mixed with SO2 will reach eastern Cuba on Monday afternoon and will extend to the entire nation as of Tuesday.
On the other hand, forecasts by the European Union’s Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS) program warned that the highest concentrations of this colorless gas will be recorded at a level of 850 hecto Pascal (1,500 meters above sea level).
In the face of these situations, experts from the Ministry of Public Health warn people to protect their respiratory tract, avoid exercising outdoors, and those with a previous condition of illness and allergy to maintain preventive treatment, among other recommendations.
