The initiative, promoted by the Italy-Cuba National Friendship Association in collaboration with Cuba’s EGREM company (Empresa de Grabaciones y Ediciones Musicales EGREM de Cuba), is the first of several shipments obtained through purchases and deliveries made by hospitals and companies of the sector in the European nation.

‘Por un abrazo’ intends to return to the Cuban people a part of the generous aid deployed last year when Cuba’s Henry Reeve medical contingent saved lives in the city of Crema, both organizations confirmed in a press release.

The project will also build a cultural bridge between Cuban creators and Italian musicians, who will participate in different shows starting in December along with other renowned associations, such as the Timbalaye project and the Italian Cultural and Recreational Association (ARCI).

The original idea, in charge of Cuban artists Pepe Lopez and Carla Paz, had as its starting point the video clip ‘Por un Abrazo’ (For a Hug) made in 2020.
