Speaking on Monday at the BioTechMed forum, the official also noted that over 49 million Russians have received at least one dose of the domestic vaccine and about 40 million completed their immunization cycle, the TASS news agency reported.
On September 30th, in a meeting to analyze the impact of the disease in Russia, the Prime Minister, Mikhail Mishustin, stressed that the current number of vaccinated is insufficient to achieve herd immunity.
According to the authorities, Russian registered constant increases in the number of deaths and infections in recent days, however the number of vaccinated is lagging behind.
Mishustin contrasted the difficult epidemiological situation in the country with ‘all the conditions’ offered by Russia to continue with an effective vaccination campaign. He pointed out that there are 8,500 vaccination points all over the country, including mobile ones.
‘Brigades are paying home visits. All vaccines are free,’ he stressed. Murashko confirmed at the meeting that there are vaccine stocks for more than two months, which indicates that there are no obstacles to getting immunized.
