The organizers of the Marlin Marinas of this island add that the current edition will be held from October 26 to 30, taking advantage of the nautical and fishing potential of the northern area of Coco and Guillermo keys.

Even the director of Cuba’s tourism office in Toronto, Canada, Lessner Gomez, said in his Twitter account that this is a unique opportunity for fishermen.

The tournament is open to professionals or amateurs, sport fishing enthusiasts, and people who love this magical world, whether or not they are members of fishing clubs and federations, who wish to learn more about the sea and its species, according to the announcement.

The fishing area comprises up to five miles north-northeast between the aforementioned Coco and Guillermo Cays, a rich fishing area located in the Old Channel of the Bahamas.

Experts point out that October to December is the period of greatest transit of these species off the Cuban keys, particularly the fantail marlin or veilfish.

That is the reason why the organizers selected that date, under an analysis of the tides and the moon.
