On its Twitter account, the bank showed evidence of electronic sabotage on its digital portal, which originated from computers in Colombia, Chile, Ecuador and Canada.
‘They tried to affect part of our technological platform, but thanks to our system’s soundness and the efforts of our workers, the attack was effectively stopped,’ officials from the bank, who ruled out damage or violation of the clients’ financial data, noted.
On September 15, several continuous attacks on the Bank of Venezuela, the country’s main banking institution with 14 million clients, were reported.
