González Llort, Hero of the Republic of Cuba, deputy to the National Assembly and president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), held in the last few hours fraternal exchanges with a dozen deputies from left-wing parties, including Enrique Santiago, leader of the Communist Party of Spain and Secretary of State for the 2030 Agenda.
González Llort also spoke with José María Álvarez Suárez, secretary general of the Union of Workers of Spain, and other leaders of the union.
In all cases, the rejection of the blockade by the United States was the centerpiece of the meetings, and the support and solidarity with the Cuban people’s struggle was reiterated.
The head of ICAP, for his part, took the opportunity to offer an update on the Cuban reality, and expressed his deepest gratitude for the expressions of friendship and sympathy towards his people.
Cuba’s battle against Covid-19 was an essential part of the exchange between the parliamentarian of the largest of the Antilles and the spokesperson of the Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party (PSOE) María Olga Alonso.
The exchange between González Llort and Olga Alonso, who is also the PSOE parliamentarian in charge of Ibero-America for the Foreign Affairs Committee took place at the headquarters of the Spanish Congress of Deputies.
