The police already completed the investigation of the case and delivered the documents to the prosecution.

A legal process against Babis and his associate Jana Nagyova was shelved previously due to lack of evidence, but in 2019 the former Supreme State Attorney Pavel Zeman reopened the case.

Last April, the European Commission (EC) referred to a conflict of interest of Babis, accused of maintaining control of the Agrofert consortium.

As there is a conflict of interest, Agrofert has no rights to receive community subsidies for its operation, considers a report by the EC, the executive body of the EU.

Babis, however, believes that the aforementioned document has been manipulated and therefore this country in no way was willing to return a single euro of the subsidies.

According to the EC, which conducted an audit in January 2019, the head of government maintains control of the assets and income of the company, which has benefited from EU aid since 2017.

The Prime Minister assured that it all has to do with manipulations and maneuvers of opposition parties to harm him.
