The initiative, organized by the Ministry of Culture in cooperation with the al-Sayyed Gallery, has the goal of spreading culture in society and raising the aesthetic taste of the public, as the plastic artist and the director of the gallery Elham Bakir told Prensa Latina.
The artist stated that this interactive activity features a group of Syrian artists painting their works before the public, and explained that the ancient site was chosen for its historical significance that allows the creators to work in an inspiring space.
The themes addressed in the paintings are diverse and oscillate between the nature, civilization and heritage of Syria, modernity and the different human states.
‘Syria has witnessed numerous wars and occupations throughout its history and this war will end and the Syrians will maintain their creativity and love of life,’ said other artists participating in the event.
