The minister highlighted the importance of these cases for the Government, which is why all complaints are being investigated, ‘something that did not happen to a large extent before,’ she noted, adding that in relation to the total number of open complaints there are 584 potential aggressors.

She explained that these are people involved in sports (volunteers, coaches…), in relation to current and past situations, and about the ongoing procedures ‘there are administrative investigations, (but) there have also been reports in courts.’ ‘It is not an insignificant matter,’ Maracineanu pointed out.

She went on to say that the presidents of federations participated in the handling of these cases, and new types of contracts will be signed between the State and the federations, ‘not only with regards to the practice of sport, but especially regarding ethics and integrity,’ she said.
