On Saturday, political organizations will select their position on the voting ballot, a procedure conducted on Thursday by the 37 national parties that nominated their candidates for the upcoming elections.
Likewise, the National Electoral Council (CNE) signed an agreement with the Latin American Council of Electoral Experts (CEELA) in order to formalize the observation mission terms CEELA will roll out in November 21´s elections.
Such an agreement empowered CEELA to witness each of the electoral schedule stages, as well as to participate in audits conducted on different components of the automated electoral system, to attend the voting centers and to witness the votes in order to check transparency and reliability of the process.
Venezuela will go to the polls on November 21 in the so-called Mega-Elections to elect the country’s 23 governors and 335 mayors, in addition to 253 members of legislative assemblies and 2,471 councilors.
In light of negotiations, Venezuelas opposition parties announced last week the nonfeasance of the abstentionist route and the willingness to participate in the regional and municipal elections.
Amid this auspicious scenario, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro condemned a plot launched by external agents to boycott the concertation procedure started from August 13 following a memorandum of understanding signing.
Venezuela´s National Assembly has rejected US Senator Robert Menendez´s recent ‘interference, rude and tendentious’ in recent statements against the Nicolás Maduro administration.
In a statement released in Washington on behalf of US and European lawmakers, Bob Menendez urged the ‘Maduro regime’ to undertake the ‘good faith’ process, in addition to conditioning the lifting of sanctions imposed on the South American nation.
