UNSC pays tribute to 9/11 victims

United Nations, Sep 10 (Prensa Latina) UN Security Council (UNSC) member states paid a visit to the September 11 Memorial and Museum in New York to pay tribute to the victims of terror attack.

In a statement after the solemn tribute, UNSC member states doubled down on their commitment to prevent and fight terrorism, in accordance with international law.

The member states recommit themselves to the UN Charter words to ‘preserve future generations from war’ and to this end, join forces to keep international peace and security.

After 20 years of 9/11 terror attacks on World Trade Center (WTC) in New York, Pentagon in Washington D.C. and Shanksville in Pennsylvania, most US citizens see these incidents as a negative turning point for the United States, a new poll revealed Thursday. 46% of those surveyed by The Washington Post and ABC considered that these attacks caused the United States to change for the worse.

Similarly, 44% believed that the chaotic withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan made the United States less safe from future attacks.

In addition, most of surveyed people said they had less confidence in the Joe Biden administration to detect and prevent the arrival of extremists in the United States.
