Tigray Front looted Unicef warehouse in Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, Sep 4 (Prensa Latina) The Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF) looted a warehouse that belongs to the United Nations Children's Fund (Unicef), located in the Ethiopian state of Amhara, according to an official complaint released on Saturday.

According to the notification, the warehouse is located exactly in the district of Gayint, south zone of Gondar, where there were various items accumulated to help, mainly, the children of the northern region of Ethiopia.

The depredation of the TPLF terrorist group, the text notes, took place amid acts of bombing of religious institutions, massacre of civilians, attacks on the infrastructure of various localities and vandalism against state establishments.

Such evil acts are becoming the main characteristics of the organization and show that it does not care about the safety of children, the preservation of property and regional stability, the communication adds.

In addition to warehouses, it adds, they ruined vehicles, which hinders efforts to provide humanitarian aid, as they already did in Afar and Tigray states.

In November 2020, the Front attacked the federal army in Tigray and Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed responded with a military offensive to neutralize it and restore legality in the demarcation. Since then, judicial proceedings began against leaders of the group, declared terrorist by Parliament and allegedly responsible for human rights violations.
