Beijing, Sep 3 (Prensa Latina) China on Friday stated that it continues to be very attentive to the situation in Afghanistan and advocated that the future Government there is inclusive, adopts moderate domestic and foreign policies, and stops using terrorism.

According to Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Wang Wenbin, Beijing is keeping its Embassy in Kabul operating as normal because it is ‘a key channel for contacts between the two countries.’

China’s priority, he remarked, is to ensure ‘a soft landing’ in Afghanistan, to help prevent a civil war with humanitarian disaster and avoid at all costs unnecessary deaths and a massive wave of refugees.

Wang also considered that many countries must take responsibility for the damages caused during the last 20 years, not to abandon it to its fate, nor to pass the problem on to neighboring nations or the international community.

Right after the Taliban entered Kabul in August, China stated that it would ‘continue betting on good neighbor, cooperation and friendly relations’ with Afghanistan.

However, last week, China urged the Taliban to honor its pledge to break off ties with any terrorist organization, fight the East Turkestan Islamic Movement and solve the problems hindering to maintain regional peace and cooperation development.
