Iran demands action from signatories to save nuclear agreement

Tehran, Sep 2 (Prensa Latina) Iran demanded action by the rest of the signatories to save the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), or nuclear agreement, in crisis as a result of the exit of the United States.

The Foreign Minister of Iran Hossein Amir Abdollahian stressed that his country welcomes negotiations to reach consent once again, but now is the time for the other signatories: the United Kingdom, France, Russia, China and Germany.

In Amir Abdollahian’s opinion, Iran complied with maintaining strategic patience in the face of the withdrawal of the United States and the imposition of oppressive measures, which none of the Europeans in the JCPOA tried to contain or attenuate.

Therefore, it is the opportunity for the other signatories to implement their commitments in a practical way, in his words.

The talks held in Vienna, Austria, were halted before a change of government in Iran.

In any case, Tehran insists that all sanctions imposed by the United States must be lifted and, after verifying their elimination, the Islamic republic will reverse the measures taken in response to the embargo by the United States.
