The parties will carry out joint actions against those groups and will exchange experiences on the fight against that scourge and its prevention, explained the Deputy Minister of Social Defense and Controlled Substances Jaime Mamani.
The preparations for those actions include meetings to identify air bridges, criminal organizations and ways to eradicate them and eliminate their economic impact, the deputy minister added, cited by the Agencia Boliviana de Informacion.
According to the authority, Bolivia is because of its characteristics ‘a transit country for drug trafficking, where criminal organizations make their way to carry out fuel loads.’
The schedule of joint contacts includes a meeting of the Bolivian side with representatives of Paraguay on September 16, and another on September 30 with their counterparts in Chile, ‘to evaluate prevention strategies,’ the deputy minister detailed.
Authorities in La Paz recently met with officials from Peru and Argentina, and agreed to strengthen the frontal fight against drug trafficking, ‘in a coordinated and simultaneous manner.’
