Russia and Belarus to sign joint cooperation programs

Minsk, Sep 1 (Prensa Latina) Belarusian President Alexandr Lukashenko on Wednesday said that he and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, will approve State of the Union programs between both countries at a meeting of the Supreme State Council in October.

He noted that if the two leaders reach an agreement on the issue at the meeting in Moscow on September 9, the governments will meet, consider and adopt these programs on September 10 and 11, Belta news agency reported.

He recalled that more than three years ago, he and Putin set the task of advancing in the construction of the Union, and since then more than 30 roadmaps have been drawn up for more than 30 areas of cooperation development.

Lukashenko noted that such projects were transformed into 28 Union programs that will be signed for implementation.

At the next meeting in Moscow, the presidents will discuss the partnership programs prepared by their respective governments and issues on the international agenda.
