The Syrian issue is an essential topic, and its return will be a step forward in reunification and overcoming its internal difficulties, Lamamra added, according to the version of his statement at a press conference broadcast by the Algerian press.

Syria was suspended from the regional body in November 2011, a few months after the breakout of street demonstrations in the so-called Arab Spring with the initial opposition of Algeria, Iraq, Yemen and Lebanon, the press recalled.
