Venezuela ratifies willingness to cooperate with UN

Caracas, Aug 19 (Prensa Latina) Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza on Wednesday ratified his country´s willingness to strengthen cooperation with the United Nations (UN).

In a message posted on Twitter, the Arreaza welcomed the new UN Resident Coordinator for Venezuela Gianluca Rampolla.

‘Welcome! We hope to continue working in terms of respect and healthy cooperation with the United Nations,’ Arreaza live-tweeted.

UN Secretary-General (UNSG) António Guterres appointed Italian Gianluca Rampolla as Resident Coordinator for Venezuela.

Rampolla will also serve as coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs and will take office on August 23.
