Number of Covid-19 patients in Mexico exceeds 3,100,000

Mexico, Aug 17 (Prensa Latina) The 7,117 Covid-19 patients reported by the Ministry of Health of Mexico in the past 24 hours brought the amount of patients to 3,108,000.

The entity indicated in its morning report that 272 patients died in the same period, putting the number of deceased at 248,652.

Meanwhile, there are 133,866 active cases, that is, 13,838 less than what was reported registered on Sunday.

Hospital occupancy remains almost unchanged, with 54 percent of general beds and 46 percent of those with a ventilator occupied.

Regarding the progress of vaccination, the Ministry reported that 348,015 doses were applied on Sunday, for a cumulative of 77,573,066 administered since the beginning of the campaign on December 24th, 2020.

Mexico has 127 million inhabitants, of which about 118 million will receive the vaccine, since the rest are under 18 years of age and are not yet included in the immunization plans.
