The TPLF has destroyed electrical substations and insulators, conductors, towers and many other facilities, with acts of sabotage committed in the state of Tigray and other areas, EEP Communication Director Moges Mekonnen denounced.
Although the company carried out immediate maintenance in all transmission lines to that region, the terrorist group managed to damage them again before ending 2020 and even caused further destruction, the official stated in a public appearance.
The main objective, Mekonnen said, ‘is to isolate the people from the federal Government and for that reason, the Front has also destroyed large telecommunications infrastructures, roads, airports and water supplies, among others, damages that amount to approximately more than 22 million dollars.’
There is no international principle that forces to undertake restoration works amid the war, but the company is ready to restore the power transmission lines as soon as peace is restored in the region, he said.
