Nigerian Minister of Health, Illiassou Mainassara, admitted that what he calls an epidemic related to a cholera outbreak has been ravaging cholera for months in the Zinder, Maradi and Dosso regions, but assured that the situation is under control.
The sick are isolated and treated free of charge in specific spaces, according to the minister.
The probable cause of the outbreak is the floods caused by persistent rains that for weeks have hit this country without coasts in West Africa, one of the poorest in the world where the Covid-19 pandemic also causes deaths.
