‘We have learned that a United States fleet is being prepared for Cuba. I warn the United States Government to seriously act to avoid incidents that are not in the best interest of either side,’ the foreign minister said at a press briefing on Thursday.
Rodriguez asserted that anti-Cuban organizations based in Florida, supported and encouraged by US Government authorities, are orchestrating this journey for this Friday, which he described as a provocation.
In his speech, the diplomat rejected Washington’s statements and accusations as an act of blatant interference in Havana’s internal affairs, aimed at violating international law and its own laws.
The United States does not have moral authority to claim Cuba in matters of human rights, he said in response to sanctions from that country against Cuban Minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces Alvaro Lopez Miera, and the Special Brigade of the Ministry of the Interior.
The minister reaffirmed his country’s complaint for the effects of ‘the extreme manipulation of digital media and improper use of technology platforms, ‘controlled, to a large extent, by the neighboring country.
