Mexico will keep its economy open despite rebound in Covid-19

Mexico, Jul 22 (Prensa Latina) Mexico is currently experiencing a rebound in the Covid-19 pandemic, but even with the risk level on the red, the government stated the economy will remain open.

Both the Ministry of Health and the head of government of the capital, Claudia Sheinbaum, confirmed that nothing will be closed again and face-to-face classes will resume in August as planned.

The president of the Employers’ Confederation of the Mexican Republic in the capital, Armando Zúñiga, warned for his part that a new closure of companies or businesses would be catastrophic.

According to Zúñiga, the loss of companies and jobs in the city would double, when the government needs to step up the vaccination process and the campaigns for the correct use of health protocols.

The official indicated that the relaxation of sanitary measures is part of the worrying Covid-19 upturn, for which both the government and the private initiative must continue conducting their awareness campaign so as not to have to take the situation back into the red.

He added that the economic sector has a great responsibility to generate safe and healthy work spaces that support economic recovery.

For this, strict protocols are required that allow taking care of visitors and not having to close shops.

The capital is faced with the challenges of recovering jobs and economic units, as well as addressing the issue of security, where it is recognized that progress has been made in particular on the issue of intentional homicides.
