US blockade as main cause of Cubans’ problems denounced in Russia

Moscow, Jul 16 (Prensa Latina) Ivan Melnikov, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma (Lower House) of Russia, denounced the complex situation Cuba is currently going through due to the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against the island.

The Russian official pointed out that the difficulties caused by the tightening of the US policy towards the Caribbean nation were joined to the problems caused by the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic globally and in Cuba, according to a note posted on the website of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF).

Regarding the July 11 actions on the island, encouraged from Washington, Melnikov considered that the aim of these people remains to overthow Cuba’s Government, deprive its people of sovereignty and change the course of the Revolution, the website of that organization informed.

In recent days, Cuban authorities denounced the United States’ link with the Sunday events on the island and the role of the Washington blockade in the serious economic problems of the Cuban nation.
