According to the Cuban Head of Government, 60 percent of the country’s inhabitants will have been vaccinated by August, and 80 percent will have been inoculated with the national biological immunizers Abdala, Soberana 02 and Soberana Plus with at least one dose.
In August and September, the entire Cuban population should have at least the first dose, with priority to the territories with the highest incidence rates of the disease, he pointed out.
Marrero stressed that despite the difficulties derived from the tightening of the US blockade and the economic crisis deepened by the expansion of the pandemic in the world, Cuba exceeds the world average in the percentage of people who have received at least one dose of these medicines.
The Caribbean nation also has the highest rate of people vaccinated daily per 100 inhabitants.
Marrero said that clinical trials have begun in the pediatric population (from three to 18 years of age), and assured that in September the vaccination process will begin for all children of those ages.
