Cuba is experiencing a wave of unrest in recent days, he recognizes, caused by the difficult economic conditions in the country, worsened during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The political organization points out that Cuban president, Miguel Díaz Canel, recognized the legitimacy of criticisms on the country’s situation and went to San Antonio de los Baños town to speak with the protesters.
‘We reaffirm our trust in the Cuban government and in its efforts to overcome the serious economic crisis without affecting the achievements of the Revolution,’ the PSOL statement remarks.
Yesterday, representatives of political parties, friendly organizations, trade unions and Brazilian students ratified their solidarity with Cuba facing provocative attempts by a group that gathered here near its embassy.
During the last few days, other Brazilian voices condemned the riots that took place on Sunday in towns in Cuba, hit by the economic crisis derived from the blockade and by the increase in Covid-19 cases.
