According to police sources, the detainee was accused of committing three crimes under the Russian Criminal Code, linked to the organization and participation in illegal armed organizations and recruitment of persons for terrorist acts.
On Thursday, the Federal Security Service (FSB) told TASS news agency that they managed to prevent the actions planned by ISIS members to be perpetrated in Moscow and Astrakhan.
The FSB noted that the suspect of the attempted attack in Astrakhan offered armed resistance during the operation, so he was eliminated, while the latter was detained in the capital.
The Federal Security Service indicated the two citizens planned simultaneous attacks on residents of both Russian cities with the use of firearms and knives in crowded places.
