At present, there is an exhaustion of confrontation, hatred and violence as a way of doing politics, Rodriguez noted, stressing that the country mainly advocates rationality and respect for diversity when settling differences.

The member of the national leadership of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) considered that the predominant position of Venezuelans against the conflict ‘is forcing politicians to dialogue, to reach an agreement and to bet solely and exclusively on the democratic path,’ he stated.

In statements to Union Radio, the socialist leader stressed the importance of understanding among all political, economic and social sectors of the nation in order to advance in the solution of the existing problems.

In view of new approaches with the most radical factions of the Venezuelan right wing, President Nicolas Maduro stated the main points of the government’s agenda in an eventual negotiation.

The president insisted that a new process of dialogue must crudely raise the national issues, especially the impact of the US economic blockade against Venezuela.
