At his daily briefing on television, National Director of Epidemiology at the Ministry of Public Health, Dr. Francisco Duran, said that a total of 170,850 people have been affected by this disease in Cuba and 1,180 have died since March 11, 2020.
Some 33,930 people are still in hospitals so far, 7,337 of whom are suspected cases, 17,931 are under epidemiological surveillance and 8,662 are active patients infected with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, which causes Covid-19.
To detect the virus, 27,126 samples were studied on Monday, and a total of 4,780,371 real-time PCR tests have been perfomed in Cuba.
