Beijing’s Ritan Park was the scenario of a rally that brought together Cuban officials and compatriots living here, along with friends from China, Venezuela and Argentina.
Similarly and simultaneously, the clamor took to the streets in Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Anhui and Jiangsu, where Cubans participated as part of the ‘Bridges of Love’ global campaign against the hostile blockade.
In all cases, phrases such as ‘Cuba Yes, Blockade No’, ‘Live Cuba’ and ‘Down with the blockade’ were chanted in Spanish and Chinese languages to demand the end of that policy, which is considered the main obstacle to Cuba’s development and its economic relations with the rest of the world.
In addition, the Association of Cuban Residents in China denounced in a statement the negative consequences of the US position for its people.
In statements to Prensa Latina, Cuban Ambassador to China Carlos Miguel Pereira Prensa Latina underscored the value of these actions just prior to a new vote at the United Nations General Assembly on a draft resolution calling for the end of the US blockade.
Apart from China, the ‘Bridges of Love’ project is present this weekend in different regions of the world to demand that Washington lift that measures, which has been rejected every year since 1992 at the United Nations General Assembly.
