On Twitter, the Cuban leader wrote that his country has been lately supported from several nations condemning the outrageous US blockade.
‘Our gratitude for joining us in the legitimate defense of our rights,’ Díaz-Canel live-tweeted, adding #EliminaElBloqueo.
In particular, the president classed as ‘beautiful and touching’ the action of placing a Cuban flag (46 m x 23), ‘the largest in the world’, on a hill visible from the city of Belfast, alongside a huge sign calling for the end of the US blockade: #UnblockCuba.
The initiative joined others conducted in separate European cities in the context of President Joe Biden´s official visit to Europe, on the occasion of the G7 Summit, the meeting of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) as well as meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
