The park was built on the Mount of the Virgin, a place ravaged by last year’s fires, and its new planting shows the recovery spirit of the war despite all challenges, Russian Ambassador to this nation, Alexander Yefimof, said.

He added that this work shows the ties between both nations and ratified the willingness to continue the efforts to pacify Syria.

The park is a symbol of peace and fraternity between nations, especially between the Russian and Syrian ones, those attending the ceremony told the press.

They said that the fact of doing it in a place of pilgrimage for Muslims and Christian conveys a message of peace and of the ‘eternal’ friendship between both countries.
