Of that amount, 144 million were allocated to 21 new projects, while other works in progress received 403.2 millions.
Surprisingly, the United States was the main destination for Vietnam’s investments, with more than half of the total (303 millions), followed by Cambodia (89.1 millions). The rest was basically distributed between Canada, France, Germany and the Netherlands.
By sectors, most of capitals went to science and technology projects (271 millions) and wholesale and retail trade (148.4 millions).
Vietnam has invested 22 billion dollars abroad, mostly in mining (36 percent) and the agroforestry-fishing sector (15 percent).
