On Twitter, the foreign minister appreciated the gesture of the Argentine Movement of Solidarity with Cuba and the Union of Cuban Residents in Argentina.
‘In the face of the blockade, solidarity is imposed,’ Rodriguez added.
The shipment, with 380,000 syringes and 359,000 needles donated by Argentines and compatriots in solidarity, departed on Tuesday from Argentina on a Cubana de Aviacion airline flight that resumed the Havana-Buenos Aires route with a fortnightly frequency.
The shipment will contribute to the health intervention program that started with two of the five vaccine candidates against Covid-19 developed by Cuba, Soberana 02 and Abdala.
The campaign ‘Your Solidarity Breaks the Blockade,’ launched to raise funds, facilitated collecting those supplies as a challenge to the US economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba for almost six decades.
