The Association of Cubans Residents in Haiti (ACRH) recalled that the US unilateral measures damage all aspects of Cubans’ live especially amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

‘US blockade is also a virus,’ regretted ACRH spokesperson Regla Oliva and reiterated her support for Puentes de Amor initiative, which promotes solidarity caravans worldwide against the economic US blockade against Cuba.

ACRH recalled that former President Donald Trump implemented as many as 243 coercive measures against Cuba, which are still in force under Joe Biden.

Student and social organizations in Haiti, on the other hand, criticized the hostile US policy that hinders Cuba´s economic development, and recalled the need to respect the right to self-determination of the Cuban people.

The Coalition of Students of Social Sciences, the Port-au-Prince Center for Arts of Courtesy, the Cap-Haitien Institute of Diplomacy and International Relations, among others, described the US blockade as unfair and cruel, and appealed to international solidarity to put an end to this choking mechanism.
