Visible in the northern and southern hemispheres, the eclipse will take place in the early morning hours, before sunrise. So, from start to finish, the moon takes a little over three hours to pass through the Earth´s dark shadow. The event is also known as a ‘Blood Moon’ because of its reddish color.
According to the EarthSky site, the eclipse can be seen in western South America, part of Central America and the western United States without using a telescope, as long as the sky is clear of clouds.
While supermoon will be the largest one this year and occurs when natural satellite, during its monthly orbit, reaches a too close location to the Earth and produces a larger than average full Moon.
