The amount is in response to three administrative penalties, each of two million rubles (about 27,000 dollars), for failing to comply with the obligation to remove prohibited information from the Internet.
Eight other protocols are expected to be reviewed against the social network Facebook, also accused of failing to remove such content from the network, according to the TASS news agency.
In April, Twitter was fined 8.9 million rubles (about 117,000 dollars) under three administrative sanctions by Russia’s Federal Service for Supervision of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Mass Media (Roskomnadzor).
The reason was refusing to remove information urging minors to participate in illegal actions.
According to Roskomnadzor, over 2,500 materials were disclosed on social networks calling for participation in illegal actions by children and teenagers in Russia in January and February, for which it also filed similar lawsuits against Facebook, Google and Telegram.
