Prensa Latina learnt that more than 2,000 people from the province received the first dose on Monday, in a program aimed at immunizing some 25,000 people.

According to experts, conditions have been created to treat around 100 people a day at healthcare areas.

Mirta Santos, deputy director of Medical Assistance at the Health Directorate, confirmed that the process is running successfully without any adverse reactions among patients.

The planned premises, she said, have specialized technicians for taking vital signs before inoculation and the subsequent surveillance, with duration of one hour, in order to verify the existence of any adverse reactions.

Santos explained that the vaccination will benefit some 22,000 workers in the sector and more than 3,000 students from the University of Medical Sciences, and the personnel who collaborate in the red zones.

The intervention study in a risk population establishes the administration of three doses: the first one on day zero, the second on day 14th and the third on day 28th.
